OUR STORY
Hey there lovebirds –welcome! We’re so grateful you’re here.
What began as a simple chair rental company has grown into something far greater than I ever imagined. While the chairs are long gone, the name remains as a quiet tribute to my bonus dad, Bob, who dreamed it up nearly eight years ago. Carrying it forward feels like bringing a piece of him into every celebration we’re honoured to be part of.
Sit Pretty Events is a team of passionate planners and creatives who genuinely love what we do. With experience spanning planning, catering, and venue management, we believe great events are built on trust, connection, and thoughtful details that make each celebration feel deeply personal.
On your wedding day, we’re right there beside you- adjusting veils, calming nerves, fixing timelines, hyping you up, and quietly handling the things you’ll never even know happened - because we care that much. Sit Pretty Events isn’t just a planning team. We’re your support system, your sounding board, your steady hands, your soft place to land, and your biggest fans.

Owner, Co-Founder & Wedding Planner
You can call me Meg!
If there’s one thing to know about me, it’s that I’m an early bird through and through. There’s something about those quiet morning hours that feels equal parts peaceful and powerful. While the world is still waking up, I’m already dreaming, planning, organizing, and bringing big ideas to life (preferably with coffee in hand).
As a recent bride myself (I got married last July—cue the happy tears), I understand that wedding planning is so much more than timelines and checklists. It’s exciting, emotional, deeply personal, and occasionally a little chaotic. I know firsthand what it feels like to want every detail to be beautiful while also wanting to actually enjoy the process. That’s exactly why I do what I do.
My approach has always been simple: every couple deserves to feel like they’re our only couple. We believe wedding planning isn’t just about beautiful design—it’s about feeling cared for. It’s being supported, understood, anticipated, and able to fully soak in this once-in-a-lifetime season while knowing every detail is being handled with intention and heart.
Sit Pretty Events started as a passion project (and yes, a chair rental business), but it quickly became something much bigger than I ever imagined. What I’m most proud of today isn’t simply how much we’ve grown, but it’s who we’ve grown with.
Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of building a team of hardworking, loyal, incredibly talented, and deeply compassionate women who show up for one another and for our couples in the most meaningful ways. We believe the best celebrations are created by people who genuinely care—and that energy carries through everything we do. We uplift each other, lead with kindness, work relentlessly behind the scenes, and create an experience that feels elevated, personal, and unforgettable from beginning to end.
I feel endlessly grateful to call this my career and even more excited for what’s ahead. I can’t wait to meet more incredible couples, celebrate their stories, and continue creating wedding weekends that are as effortless as they are unforgettable.
Carly
Wedding Planner
Hi, I’m Carly!
I’ve always been the go-to party planner for my friends and family. Once I realized I could turn that lifelong passion into a career, I never looked back.
My journey in hospitality began over 12 years ago after earning a diploma in Marketing and Tourism Management from BCIT.
-
I started as a Wedding Assistant at Westwood Plateau Golf and Country Club before moving into Catering Management at some of Vancouver’s most prestigious properties, including Terminal City Club, Grouse Mountain, The Sutton Place Hotel, and Great Canadian Casinos.
I’ve had the privilege of collaborating with the city’s top vendors and executing high-end events from the ground up. These experiences built the strong foundation I use today to help my clients turn their event dreams into a seamless reality.
As a recent bride myself, I experienced the magic of planning a wedding from start to finish. That process solidified my desire to dive even deeper into the world of wedding and event planning. While I love design, florals, and fine dining, nothing is more rewarding to me than watching every small detail click into place to create a perfectly tailored day for my couples.
A Few Fun Facts:
I can usually be found with a good glass of wine rewatching Bridgerton or Game of Thrones with my pup Murphy & hubby Matt
I love trying new flavors and even spent time during the pandemic working as a meat cutter at The Little Butcher Shop to sharpen my culinary skills.

Hello, I'm Bri!
Growing up in a big Italian family meant weekends were like one long wedding celebration. This environment fuelled my love for hosting and turning ordinary gatherings into unforgettable experiences, especially themed parties – my absolute favourite!

I hold a diploma in Marketing and Event Management from BCIT and possess an extensive background in corporate sales, trade-shows, networking events, and hospitality management. My career has sharpened my communication and organizational skills, crucial when collaborating with various wedding vendors on a busy wedding day! My event and hospitality background equips me to create seamless timelines with smooth (and sometimes unexpected) transitions – I am always adaptable and happy to accept any changes that may arise throughout your special day. Building effective relationships is also key to me. When working with my couples, I'm your biggest advocate, supporter, and negotiator, committed to making sure you, your family, and your friends feel supported throughout the entire planning process. I like to joke that for the next 10-12 months, I’m your new best friend! When I'm not wedding planning, you can find me walking the Vancouver sea wall, trying a new soup recipe, or spending time with family and friends
A Few Fun Facts About Me:
I have been in over 8 wedding parties - Halloween is my favourite holiday - every year I host a spooktacular “Witches Brew” for my closest ghoulfriends - see what I did there
I started wedding planning for fun when a friend from high school asked for decorative assistance - I haven't looked back since! :)
My friends call me J-Lo and bought me a bluetooth headset (yes, just like “The Wedding Planner”)

Hello, I’m Myr!
Those who know me will tell you that hosting is one of my favourite activities in the world. Be it a simple dinner or an elaborate birthday party, I don’t miss an opportunity to celebrate events with my friends and family. It brings me immense joy to partake in your celebration of love. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design from BCIT, and have explored a number of different careers before landing at Sit Pretty Events. I worked in construction, healthcare, and the hospitality industry where I contributed to numerous events and weddings. All of my experiences have culminated in the ability to problem-solve and adapt seamlessly - a trait that comes in handy during wedding days. Fun fact, I’ve been a maid of honour twice and I would do it again!

There's something about weddings that truly captures my heart. Each wedding is truly a unique journey and I absolutely love watching the transformation unfold – whether it’s turning an empty room into a vibrant, floral-filled wonderland or seeing a couple’s dream come to life in every carefully thought-out detail that has nods to their relationship throughout the day. When I'm not assisting at weddings, you can find me spending time with family and friends, playing disc golf and currently I am in the midst of planning my own multi-day wedding celebration, so I truly understand the excitement, joy (and a bit of stress...) that comes with such a monumental occasion!

Hi, I'm Maria!
Here’s a little about me: I’m a huge dog lover and completely obsessed with my dog, Vince—he’s basically my sidekick. I’m also a Gilmore Girls enthusiast (Team Jess or Team Logan? I’m still not sure, but I’ll happily debate it with you anytime). My first glimpse into the magic of weddings was as a flower girl, and from that moment on, I was hooked.
-
Weddings and events have been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember. Growing up in a big Greek family, we took any excuse to celebrate—whether it was a holiday, a birthday, or just because. That love for celebrations only grew when I planned my own wedding in 2023. It was a whirlwind of excitement, laughter, and yes, a few chaotic moments. Luckily, I thrive in those from my lengthy background in the hospitality industry—I’m no stranger to fast-paced environments and making sure everything runs smoothly. When it comes to weddings, I’m all about the personal details—they’re what truly make the day yours.
At the end of the day, I believe weddings are all about you—your love, your joy, and creating memories that will last a lifetime. I’d love to help make that happen for you.

Hey there! I'm Gabs or Gabby,
The early riser who starts the day with a quiet cup of coffee and, if I’m lucky, my dog Ruby by my side.
Raised on 90’s rom‑coms and Say Yes to the Dress, it’s no surprise that I ended up in the world of weddings. After becoming a bride myself, I learned exactly what it feels like to be on the other side—juggling to‑do lists, expectations, creative ideas, and a lot of butterflies.

Weddings bring together so many of my favourite things: friendship, intention, family, reinvented traditions, florals, and of course—lists. Watching a couple weave their day together with what truly matters to them is, to me, the best part of the experience. My goal is to help couples feel supported, ease their stress, and remind them why they’re really here—to celebrate their love and have fun doing it.
Before becoming a project manager in health care, I worked in service, retail, clinical environments, and post‑secondary education. Each of these chapters sharpened my organizational and management skills, continually refining my ability to lead with purpose and grace.
Beyond my career, I’ve been lucky enough to be a maid of honour twice, a bridesmaid six times, an emcee twice, and a party host more times than I can count. Weddings have always been part of my story, and I’m so excited to be part of yours.
